Yaz - A Birth Control Pill

 

What is yaz?

What is Yaz? Yaz is a birth control pill. It is 99% effective in preventing pregnacy. This pill needs to be taken as directed. It is not approved in treating women's premenstrual syndrome (PMS) It can be used to treat acne in women fourteen and years of age or older.

Who Should Not Use Yaz ?

Any woman who smokes should not use Yaz. For them smoking enhances side effects. If you are over thirty-five, some the side effects increase. For every year, you're over thirty-five, the woman that smokes side effects increase. This also increases by how many cigarettes you smoke a day. Bottom line is do not smoke while on this birth control pill.
This pill will not prevent STD’s or HIV.

Are there side Effects?

It does come with some side effects. Yaz has many side effects because they can affect so many systems in our bodies. It can cause blood clots, or may contribute to heart attack or stroke. These may be serious and can cause permanent disability

The side effects from this pill come from the ingredient drospirenone. This drug within Yaz may cause stroke and heart attack. However, it also may increase the potassium in our blood. To safeguard you from this, blood tests should be done after you are on the medication for one month.
The most common side effects of Yaz are headache/migraines, irregularities in the menstrual cycle, nausea/vomiting, breast tenderness, fatigue, decreased libido, weight gain and changes in your mood. Anything that is abnormal for you, report to your Doctor.
